Press Release: ARG Announces Hire of Mike Baker, Senior Vice-President of Business Development
October 2, 2019CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. and LONDON, October 3, 2019 -- Atlantic Research Group (ARG), a global full-service contract research organization (CRO), has announced the hire of Mike Baker, as Senior Vice-President of Business Development. The addition significantly contributes to ARG’s controlled growth plan, that in the previous 12 months has seen an acquisition of a leading CRO in the UK, and the opening of offices in Amsterdam and Warsaw.
ARG, founded in 2004, is a global leader in oncology, immunology, rare and neurodegenerative disease clinical trials management. Mike Baker, with over 20 years of experience in business development and leadership in the pharmaceutical and biotech industry, has previously held leadership roles at Medsource, Covance, Chiltern, Ockham, and ASG, Inc.
As a result of the hire, ARG will have an executive in place with an established track record of driving both organic growth and seamless integrations, coinciding with the anticipated evolution of the organization as a whole.

In-house, Mike will be leading our BD group, providing strategy and a path forward,” said Paul Bishop, ARG’s CEO and cofounder, adding that Mr. Baker has particular expertise in oncology clinical trials, the fastest-growing segment in the ARG portfolio.
Mr. Baker chose to join the organization because of its strong leadership and ascending position in the market, stating: “This is an exciting time to be joining ARG, during its 15th anniversary celebration.
